An expert in behavioural interventions working at the intersection of health services delivery and consumer informatics. Her work explores chronic care and self-care solutions built on digital technology, with the aim of improving patient-centred outcomes and making care more reachable.

Since 2007 she has served as PI, Co-PI or Sub-PI on more than twenty large extramurally funded research projects, published over 120 peer-reviewed articles, and presented at more than 150 academic conferences. She has served on expert panels for NIH, NSF, HRSA and WHO. She received her PhD in Public Health from Johns Hopkins in 2007, and was a professor at the Texas A&M University School of Public Health from 2007 to 2019.

    Managing this website

    Six short procedures cover everything you will do day to day. Each one is a few clicks in the WordPress dashboard — no code, and nothing that can break the layout if you follow the steps in order.

    1. Editing an existing page
    1. Log inGo to your site's /wp-admin address and sign in.
    2. Open PagesIn the left sidebar, choose Pages. Every section of the site is a page.
    3. Pick the pageHover the page name and choose Edit.
    4. Change the contentEdit the text and blocks, then update the images from the Media Library.
    5. PreviewUse Preview to see the page as a visitor would.
    6. UpdatePress the blue Update button. The change is live immediately.
    2. Adding a news post

    News items are held in the theme's data file and rendered on the News page and homepage. To add a post, edit assets/js/data.js and add an entry to the NEWS array (id, date, category, title, excerpt, body). A developer can migrate these to native WordPress posts on request.

    3. Managing publications

    Publications live in the PUBS array in assets/js/data.js. Each entry carries a type, year, title, authors, venue, abstract, keywords and an optional link. The filter and search controls update automatically from that list.

    4. Managing team members

    Team members are stored in the TEAM array in assets/js/data.js, each with a name, role, programme, biography, interests, group and contact link. The group value controls which filter the card appears under.

    5. Checking tablet and phone layouts

    The theme is fully responsive. After any edit, use your browser's device toolbar (or resize the window) to check the layout at phone and tablet widths before publishing.

    6. Publishing safely
    • Save drafts when interrupted mid-edit.
    • Preview before you update. Thirty seconds of checking prevents most public mistakes.
    • Keep backups. Take a backup before any large change, and update plugins one at a time.
